Lesson Policies
First Lesson
This half-hour session will:
Introduce the student and their background
Determine if the student and teacher are a good fit
Establish goals for the lessons
Provide the student with practice resources
The first lesson is free! Subsequent lessons are paid for using one of the listed payment plans.
Lesson Location
Lessons are typically held at students’ homes. Opportunities for lessons at schools in Columbia and Jefferson City may be available in the future.
Lesson Expectations
Lessons will usually begin with technique (scales, arpeggios, etudes, extended techniques) before digging into repertoire. It is helpful for the student to plan what they want to work on before the lesson, but the instructor will provide guidance. The student should assemble their instrument and warm up before the lesson begins.
Scheduling and Rescheduling
Lessons are typically once a week and should be arranged by contacting the instructor. If a lesson needs to be rescheduled, contact the instructor as soon as possible.
Missed Lesson
Lessons canceled or missed by the student with LESS THAN 24 HOURS’ notice will not be rescheduled or refunded. Lessons canceled with MORE THAN 24 HOURS’ notice will be given a make-up lesson credit to use within 14 days. Extra lessons and make-up lesson times (in-person or online) are subject to teacher availability.
